Autoban designed the new Istanbul headquarters and showroom for Nackiyé, an artisanal clothing brand known for its poetic connection to the Eastern Mediterranean. Located within the historic Akaretler Row Houses, the space reflects a balance of heritage and modernity, evoking the brand’s deep-rooted identity while crafting an environment suited to its forward-looking vision.
Established in 2018, Nackiyé draws inspiration from the collective memory of its founder-designer duo, weaving together echoes of home, travel, and tradition. The brief called for a space that could embody this layered sensibility, both intimate and expressive, grounded in craftsmanship yet attuned to contemporary aesthetics.
Autoban’s design response is shaped around the idea of spatial storytelling. A series of signature archways—each wrapped in playful, custom-branded ceramic tiles—guides visitors from room to room, echoing the layered progression of the brand’s garments. These ceramics, produced in Kütahya, reflect the brand’s support for traditional Anatolian craftsmanship and nod to its ancestral roots in one of Turkey’s oldest ceramic-making regions.
The interior palette favours softness and tactility, anchoring the space in natural materials and nuanced textures. Sculptural elements are balanced by moments of quiet charm: curved forms, patterned surfaces, and careful calibrations of light that reflect the brand’s gentle eccentricity. Showroom, office, and studio functions are united under a cohesive design language that invites curiosity and calm.
At once refined and inviting, the resulting space captures Nackiyé’s distinctive character, a brand steeped in memory, grounded in place, and committed to slow, meaningful production. With this project, Autoban translates that philosophy into architecture: a thoughtful reflection of identity shaped through form, material, and atmosphere.
