The Stock Exchange Hotel

The Stock Exchange Hotel

The Stock Exchange Hotel, the newest member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux collection

The Stock Exchange Hotel, the newest member of the prestigious Relais & Chateaux collection, is set within the former home of the Manchester Stock Exchange, a striking grade II listed building located in the heart of the city. The meticulously transformed space offers luxury and boutique accommodation which captures the spirit and heritage of one of the city’s most historically symbolic institutions.

The hotel features a collection of 40 guest-rooms, including two signature suites, a penthouse residence, and a restaurant under the grand dome which for decades housed the trading floor of the stock exchange. Autoban’s bespoke design - a subtle arrangement of a light palette of colours, combined with luxurious materials, original marble, brass, glass and woodwork - ensures guests will experience spaces deeply rooted in the history and heart of the city, crafted around the remarkable stories of the building.

The unique rooms and suites feature sumptuous but refined interiors with soft and muted tones, exquisitely crafted custom furnishings, and tactile materials carefully layered to create a harmony of textures. Handpicked bespoke items from Autoban’s signature collection have been customized for the space and bring an intimate feel to the rooms, such as the iconic Nest chair, Union Sofa, Throne chair and a new custom collection of beds.

The signature Nineteen ‘0’ Six and Boardroom suites boast plush interiors and are located in the most historically significant and architecturally preserved parts of the building - the original stock exchange boardroom. The 1,700 square foot Boardroom suite was designed in order to reflect the grand legacy of the space, and exudes luxury, with original features such as marble pillars, stained-glass windows, an ornamental marble fireplace and wooden panelling. Complementing layers of textures in the carpeting, upholstery and wall-papers bring further warmth and elegance to the space.

The hotel also features a 3,724 square foot penthouse, known as ‘The House’, the design of which Autoban approached as a truly unique and intimate residence with completely bespoke fittings and furniture. The House encompasses three meticulously designed bedrooms with en-suite bathrooms, a kitchen, two separate lounge areas, and a stylish dining room as well as a roof terrace offering views of the Manchester skyline.

Perhaps the most iconic space of the hotel is the Bull & Bear Restaurant, now home to Michelin starred Chef Tom Kerridge, which lies under the magnificent domed ceiling of what was once the vast trading floor of the stock exchange. The room has been re-laid in marble and oak, and a deep emerald green highlights the handsome historical mouldings with banquettes and seating upholstered in a corresponding butter-soft green leather.

Developed by former Manchester United team-mates Gary Neville and Ryan Giggs in partnership with luxury hotelier Winston Zahra, and with interiors conceived entirely by Autoban, the Stock Exchange Hotel was named one of the World’s Best New Luxury Hotels by Luxury Travel Intelligence within just one month of opening.
